I witnessed pretty amazing views this weekend in downtown Chicago.

Shot this double exposure the other night walking around Wicker Park with friends. Came out better then I expected.

Sondre Lerche - Dead Passengers & Modern Nature (LIVE @ Schubas - Chicago, IL 6/18/11)
The best tracks of the night just happened to be Sondre’s last 2, “Dead Passengers” into “Modern Nature”.
I guess it’s one of those you had to be there moments, but I hope this clip captures a bit of what was a very special moment for all involved. It’s definitely a unique glimpse into a Sondre performance.
NOTE: Shot with the Canon 60D-RODE Stereo Mic, I again am using the 18-135mm, I think I’m officially sold on that over the my prime 1.8 50mm.
Location: Schubas - Chicago, IL (June 18, 2011)

Holy Shit.
I’ve been listening to this album as loud as possible twice through now. I seem to be missing and geeking out on my Chicago friends quite a bit lately.
These songs remind me of the best Manhattan I’ve ever indulged.

Jerome in the Chicago Tribune, bad effing ass.
Jerome Holloway - Live at the Double Door - Friday, May 7
If you live anywhere somewhat near Chicago, you owe it to yourself to be at this show.
The first time I heard him sing his songs was almost 4 years ago, at an open mic at the Tonic Room. I think it was the first time he ever played his music in public. Even then, it was magical and moving, his hesitance and timidity worked for him. Little did I know he would become my best friend and brother, and I’m so proud to see his music and talent develop to the incredible place it is now.
I’ve been to nearly every show he’s ever played, and oh, it breaks my heart that I can’t be there for this one.
So, all my Chicago friends, be there for me. You know what it means to me, and even more so, you know what it’ll mean for him.

I followed this truck down Western Ave. in Chicago for at least 7 blocks past where I needed to turn, waiting to hit a red light, so I could take a picture.
