The Whistler makes the most delicious cocktails! I don’t remember what this was called but it was definitely composed of rye whiskey, ginger, and a slice of peach. And it went down real smooth.

I definitely plan on making a stop here when I’m in town.  Best cocktails in Chicago, hands down.

I’ve been listening to this album as loud as possible twice through now.  I seem to be missing and geeking out on my Chicago friends quite a bit lately. 

These songs remind me of the best Manhattan I’ve ever indulged.

Jerome Holloway - Live at the Double Door - Friday, May 7

If you live anywhere somewhat near Chicago, you owe it to yourself to be at this show. 

The first time I heard him sing his songs was almost 4 years ago, at an open mic at the Tonic Room.  I think it was the first time he ever played his music in public.  Even then, it was magical and moving, his hesitance and timidity worked for him.  Little did I know he would become my best friend and brother, and I’m so proud to see his music and talent develop to the incredible place it is now.

I’ve been to nearly every show he’s ever played, and oh, it breaks my heart that I can’t be there for this one.

So, all my Chicago friends, be there for me.  You know what it means to me, and even more so, you know what it’ll mean for him.
